2005-05-03 2:52 PM IN THE NAME OF GOD Read/Post Comments (1) |
I would love to have a statistical number of how many people have been killed throughout the history of forever "in the name of God."
Each side, claiming, "God be with us!" If God is with YOU, who could possibly be against you? And the other side is over the hill with their guns and knives and arrows and bombs, saying, "God is with us!" Does anyone think (going on the assumption that there is one infinite God, with a muddle of religions all believing in the same basic idea) that God is really fucking pissed off? All this death and destruction of what He created for us His "choosen" to enjoy in "His name." It's like a brother and sister fighting over the remote, both saying Mom said that they could have it. Instead of sharing they blow up the TV and set fire to the living room and break everything in the kitchen in mother's name. Look outside. Where ever you are, whatever the weather. Look at it. I mean really look at it. City, country, ghetto, classy. It doesn't matter. There is beauty there I swear, I have seen it. The intellegence we have to create and build cities and communicate to construct such vast living communites. The peaceful growth of trees and grass. The strength in the thunderstorms, rain and wind, the eletrity gathering together into lighting streaks in the sky. The infinite sky at night, so vast, stare into it forever and see farther and more every moment. Even in desolutude there is hope and the glitter of change and chance. The strength in the connection between people. Look at someone outside, or a picture. The complexities. The viens (sorry Lins), and the muscles, bones, blood, ligaments, nerves all connected together. Emotions and feelings and thoughts all bound together, compacted into such a small space of a body. The fluid movements of the human body, the things that are so natural to us, really imagine how hard that would be to try to recreate. To build to begin to design form scratch. There is beauty in everything. (Again going on the assumption that there is one infinite God) How can a God that created all of these things possibly find glory in Himself in death and destruction in what He created? There is no logic. There is no thought process. There can only be human greed and malnipulation behind such thoughts. And all of these things are taken in piece from the Bible or the Qu'ran and taken out of context. "There is no surer way to misread any document than to read it literally." -kln- Read/Post Comments (1) Previous Entry :: Next Entry Back to Top |
