My baby is 2! How did that happen? I can't believe how fast the time has flown. I still remember his birth so vividly. Just about this time on this day 2 years ago, Marcelo and I were standing on the patio of the birth center, waiting for the midwife to arrive (because of course, even though I was 8 centimeters already, I hadn't wanted to disturb anyone too early and we got there before she did). The trees and roof were dripping from the rain overnight and it was a bit cold. The sun came out after awhile and while I labored through the morning, I was able to listen to Marc running around, laughing and playing with his aunts and uncles and grandparents on the lawn just outside the window of the birth center. Just after he was born, in the early afternoon, I was snuggling in the bed with Alex and Marc and Marcelo and it started to rain again. It was so cozy inside in the bedroom listening to the rain outside with my family and our new baby.

We had his birthday party on Sunday. It was so much fun. :) I really enjoy the big family parties, even my parents came out for it. The weather was gorgeous and the kids played outside. They had a jumper and pinata and the little kids ran around with the older kids and the adults got to relax and watch them play. :)
