Via my mother and bloggingbaby.com, comes a report that finds children with either very strict parents or very unstrict parents are more at risk for obesity.

Interesting...eh? I have always been a little suspicious of the moms in forums espousing either "let them eat whatever whenever they want" or "no sugar at all."

My inclination is to "make" my daughters eat vegetables at dinner, but then let them have a dessert. Sometimes the dessert is ice cream, sometime chocolate cake, sometimes rice crackers, sometimes strawberries. (okay, it's usually cake or ice cream).

My two daughters have opposite body types. Mia is bigger and Maika is a stick. Mia loves to eat, and Maika sometimes can't be bothered.

As sad as it may seem when my oldest is only 4 years old, I am beginning to think about watching how much she eats. Up until now I have always urged her to eat more even when she stops eating if I don't think she's eaten enough vegetables or whatever. Now I am telling her to stop when she doesn't feel like eating anymore.

With my youngest, I am constantly urging food on her and she hardly gains weight. she is the lowest on the graph for her age. However, I wonder if by urging and urging food on her now if I am setting up bad eating habits later on?

Who knows.
