2008-01-09 8:34 AM 2008 Books #4: Valiant Holly Black's Urban Fey trilogy of Tithe, Valiant, and Ironside are known at YA, but truly, I think adults should read them just to understand why teens make dumb decisions. (people should read Barzak's One for Sorrow for the same reason)
I'm not a teen expert, nor do I play one on tv, but I felt like her depiction of street living was believable and true. So this one is about Val, a suburb almost-jock high school student who falls in with a group of street kids involved with a tunnel troll and the fey. I really liked Tithe, and now I can say she does a good job with the characters in Valiant, too. I especially liked Ravus, the tunnel troll, he was cool. highly recommended. Anyway, my reading volume should slow down once Naoto comes back on Saturday morning. Read/Post Comments (1) Previous Entry :: Next Entry Back to Top |
