So it turns out I made a mistake staying up late with this last book: girl2 threw up three times during the night and I'm exhausted tonight.

Is that possibly why I don't rate Lord of Scoundrels as highly as Lord Perfect by the same author. I like Loretta Chase's writing style, I just think maybe the "blackamoor, brute, gorilla" aspect of this hero was too much for me.

Although, come to think of it, the fact that the hero and heroine finally come to an understanding doesn't rest on a stupid misunderstanding, but on her insistence he take responsibility for a bastard he sired on another woman. So in that way, it was pretty unique as Regencies go.

The next couple of books are all speculative fiction. Yippee!
