This is another one of those "I really wanted to like it, but...."

Brandon Sanderson is an author with a lot to offer. He seems really nice, his website is cool, he offers lots of freebies at his site.

But.....but.....I had to skim lots of Mistborn. I LOVE the idea of Allomancy ("burning" different kinds of metals for different effects) and I think there was so much anguished angsty potential in one of the main protags Kelsier, what with a murdered wife and revenge and heroicism and all that, but....all the bits with the angles of pushing and pulling and extended explanations scenes just didn't do it for me.

So while I enjoyed the ideas behind this book, I lamented how the potential awesome characters didn't hit the right emotional buttons for me.
