2008-02-01 4:50 PM 2008 Books #13 A debt to delia This was a category romance I picked up on the basis of the author, Barbara Metzger, being described as a witty, hilarious banter, regency romance writer.
I thought I was in the mood for witty banter, but I guess either the recent Jane Austen fest on Masterpiece Theater filled me up, or those category romance don't hold up to the test of time. All's I'm sayin' is that I like them a tad.....um....spicier? or more intriguing then this. Witty is fine, but I also want angst and complicated pasts and a bit of action (spy or intrigue, not that other kind) with my romances. It was a bit boring for me.
