2008-05-25 7:06 PM 2008 Books #68 Heart of Stone I read the first two books of CE Murphy's Urban Shaman (Joanne Walker) series and found them to be....hmmm....uninspiring? Slightly slow going for me?
Her conflicted heroine and all the spirit walking she did didn't quite grab me. However, her new series, about a Legal Aid Lawyer who meets a gargoyle and tries to prove him innocent of murder is much, much better. Heart of Stone was very enjoyable. Better relationship. Better heroine (still conflicted, but not so whiny) and much more interesting sub characters for me. I will totally read the next book in this series. My only gripe is that the end of the book came way too fast, without time for the consequences of the gargoyle's actions in saving the heroine to really play out. I was kind of like, huh? That's the end? Recommended. Read/Post Comments (0) Previous Entry :: Next Entry Back to Top |
