2008-11-05 5:36 AM A Long, Long road into the light It surprised me, last night, how much this democratic victory swayed me. It swayed me off my feet.
It surprised me because, as I do with many emotionally volatile things, I had surpressed everything, tried to not dwell on it, tried to make it not mean so very much. But we did it. Barak Obama is president elect. And I can't even remember what it feels like anymore to be part of a United States whose President I admire, respect, and have hopes for. But it's all just starting, and we have a long way to go, folks. But Obama knows that. From the text of his email last night: "I want to thank all of you who gave your time, talent, and passion to this campaign. We have a lot of work to do to get our country back on track, and I'll be in touch soon about what comes next. But I want to be very clear about one thing... All of this happened because of you. Thank you, Barack " Let's keep walking on that road and not let anything keep us back. ETA: But John Scalzi at Whatever says it much better than me. With bonus U2 track!
