It's been a long time since Jenn and I had a weekend to ourselves. It's been absolutely wonderful and rejuvenating. :) :)

I unfortunatley did miss my buddy's birthday party, but I think he understood. Happy Birthday, Kyle!

We just finished watching the Oscars. I was a little disappointed that LotR didn't get more attention, but I was ultimately surprised that Lose Yourself by Eminem actually won an Oscar. I'm totally stunned. It's a fucking amazing song, but I never thought the Academy would actually recognize a rapper who is so controversial. I'm very happy because even though his songs are offensive at times, Marshall Mathers is extremely talented.

I was surprised at some of the statements about the war during the Oscars, most notably by Michael Moore (who directly attacked Bush) but I was very impressed with Adrian Brody who spoke eloquently and sincerely.

We managed to purchase plants and some small trees for our apartment this weekend and they already have transformed the look and feel of our living room. It's wonderful! We've been talking a lot recently about buying a house but the prices are so prohibitive right now. Also, if we were to find a place we could afford it would be so far away from where I work that I'd have to shoot myself in the head everytime I had to commute. So, we've decided to put some more work into our apartment and stick it through a while longer.

*happy sigh* Life is good.
