I am in full support and appreciate all of the efforts to work with Republicans and conservatives to find a compromise on health care reform that can be agreed upon.

The part that absolutely confuses me is why on earth the Democrats are giving up this and giving up that and that and that... and THAT?! given that the Republicans will still not vote for it. Again, I appreciate the efforts to find a common ground, but if the other party isn't going to support the bill regardless of how much you compromise then there is no point in compromising.

The new bill that will be officially released tomorrow, but was leaked today, from Senator Baucus is a severely stripped down version from previous bills and is designed to address the requirements that President Obama put forward during his speech to Congress. The Public Option, a VITAL portion of reform in the face of insurance mandates, is not part of the Baucus bill because the Republicans don't support it. However, even with it stripped out, they aren't supporting it! So what's the fucking point?

If they aren't going to support it anyway, STOP COMPROMISING.

You aren't going to get their vote, so stop giving up reform that we need!
