2010-02-26 11:13 AM Stupid Cliches: Believe half of what you see and none of what you hear. I posted a comment on a video from Representative Alan Grayson. I generally like the dude, but I think his ire and doucheness was misplaced in this particular line of questioning, so I told him so (also via email and twitter, so hopefully one of them got through).
One of the other commenters asked me why I liked Grayson and if I knew what platform he ran on during his first campaign. I explained my reasons why I liked him and said that I wasn't aware of his original platform because I had only come to know him in the last year. The guy's response? Believe half of what you see and none of what you hear. *sigh* Cliches are often useful ways of expressing a point, but this one is really just stupid. Believe none of what I hear, huh? Well, I hear a lot of incredibly useful and factual pieces of information every day and you want me to believe none of that? That's just stupid. The guy is trying to tell me that I shouldn't believe the image I've been led to belief about Grayson, but guess what? If there is information I should know, then let me know what it is! Don't give me stupid cliches that are meaningless. Moron. Read/Post Comments (2) Previous Entry :: Next Entry Back to Top |
