Mood: Annoyed "In the sweetness of friendship let there be laughter, and sharing of pleasures. For in the dew of little things the heart finds its morning and is refreshed." Kahlil Gibran |
2006-02-24 1:45 PM blah, blah, blah Blah, Blah, Blah...and on and on went the President. GW spoke this morning and I happend to hear him while in the waiting room of the VA Hospital. A funny place to be..funny-peculiar, not funny-haha.
Usually, when I see his face, I either change the channel, or just shut the tv off...but this time I had no choice. I must say, I was quite surprised by the reaction of the audience...which were mostly soldiers and many, many vets. They were not a happy group. There were some who called the President "a bold faced liar" and others who said he "talked a good game" but "you can't believe a word he says". Others were miffed to hear of all the money being spent in Iraq while they (the patients) were struggling to make ends meet. One guy shouted: " I haven't had a check in 15 months...but he can find money to send over there?" I can't say that I was dismayed by what I heard. I haven't been able to look at GW since he decided to send our people to Iraq without a second thought. He seemed like a little bully...as if he had been picked on by the rest of the kids when he was a boy, and now he had a chance to get even. I don't like him...and the sooner his term is over, the better I'll like it. The problem is...who will take his place. I don't see anyone on the horizon who strikes me as a person I would like to see in that office. Sad, isn't it? Anyone who is bright enough to lead the free world is bright enough not to...know what I mean? In any case...although I am displeased with the commander in chief, I am grateful to the dog soldiers who serve this country and allow me the freedom to write a piece such as this. My prayers go out to them and to their families who are sacrificing so much. As for the current politicians...well, as far as I'm concerned, they're also in my prayers. I pray that they will come to their senses and stop the lies, the greed and the war mongering. Previous Entry :: Next Entry Back to Top |
