Do you contemplate characters when you have down time and can sit and think about them? I do too!

Tonight I was at a local buffet and I decided that if you need input to be able to create realistic characters, go to a buffet.

There were more women than men, more kids than women. There was a woman with long hair, no bangs, pink walking shorts and white short sleeved shirt. She looked like Walmart to me. The reason I say that is there was also a long haired woman with bangs, short shorts, flip flops with heels and a purse that just shouted Abercrombie. It's funny how I can characterize based on what someone wears~! There was also an older woman with a slow gait, short hair, definitely dyed, and she just seemed Dillards all the way. Then oh my. There was an African American family and the kids were all quiet, and one wore her school uniform, and they seemed SO normal. The true pulsebeat of today's family.

The pink walking shorts lady was getting paunchy and I figured watching her little blond daughter who pulled on her arm and demanded to get something from the buffet, that she must eat at McD's a lot.

The lady with the more stylish attire was very methodical. It took her forever to go through the buffet selections. She chose carefully and dropped the selection on her plate with care, as though she worried someone would chastise her for making a mess.

I didn't pay any mind to anything else other than my own meager salad, and four crackers with diet coke. It is somewhere I am going back to though.
