2006-10-10 10:50 AM Leavin' on that Midnight Train Unbeknownst to me until the final morning, Keith was waiting for me to sing "Hooray for Hollywood" as Ethel Merman (that Keith: such a camp). Which I would have gladly done had I thought about it and the time and place were ripe. Instead, the song that ran through my brain was Gladys Night's "Midnight Train to Georgia." As in, "LA proved too much for the man (too much for the man)." I guess that was my fear. But it didn't prove too much for this man. With my native guide (and Thomas Maps) I had a handle on that sprawling city. Well, we got done what we set out to do, anyway. And then some.
Fabulous Indie Film ("Pope Dreams") on the Malibu Pier under a clear, crisp sky, lit by a full moon. "Pope Dreams" was written and directed by this great guy who, with another great guy, spent all day Sunday with us putting the final audio touches on "I Love You, I'm Sorry, and I'll Never Do It Again." Every once in a while I meet someone whose sincerity, good will and generosity give me pause and allow me to remind myself to be in top form at all times. These two guys did that. Extraordinary. It really was a delightful weekend that Keith describes so well and I commented so completely on his blog that if you want to know more, visit Keith's blog. He has a couple entries about our LA sojourn. I'll link you to the first. He also has the trailer to "I Love You ..." at the top of the screen if you want to see what's up next.
