A week and a half ago I received a call from Luis, my lawyer, who informed me that we now have two Letters of Administration from the Surrogate's Court. One is for Bran's personal effects vouchered by the Police; the other is for the contents of the apartment. (For large estates only one Letter of Administration is required.) I've committed myself to accomplishing three goals by Wednesday:
1. Going to Centre Street and picking up his wallet, etc.
2. Calling Detective Vasquez and asking about opening the apartment.
3. Calling Luis and discussing next steps.

Then, maybe by Friday, we'll map out a plan of attack to inventory and distribute Bran's effects as per his wishes and settle some outstanding debts. I believe my original estimation was that this would be over by November 1. If we can do this within a month of the original deadline, I'll be happy.

This leg of the journey is weighing a little heavy on me. I'm relying on my new BJM friends to nudge me through this. Well: nudge, joke, inventory, chat, package, hug, distribute and tidy me through this.
