Saturday I went to see the Rolling Stones at Copacabana beach, live and free, along with 1,5 million people. Luckily, I had the opportunity to be inside the VIP area with Isabela, and, wow! Mick Jagger is simply outstanding. I'd never seen anything -or anyone- so fantastic on stage. What an energy! What an empathy! It was easily the best concert I've been to in my whole life. The night was far from perfect, but the concert was simply fantastic. Jagger is a living legend. A myth. A great celebration of hedonism. It seems like 2006 is the year to be in Brazil. The year barely started but we had the Stones on an historical event AND U2, in São Paulo. I watched U2's concert on TV and I was very touched. I love U2, much more than I love the Stones and most of other bands, and the concert was also fantastic, but obviously watching U2 on TV is veeery different from seeing Mick Jagger almost tête-à-tête. Carnival is approaching; and I am totally broke, I have no money at all, so I decided to go to Maricá with my family. Maricá is a really small coastal town, but my family's house there is decent, so it should be nice to entertain, rest, maybe do some mountain biking, swim... it wasn't what I really wanted but I don't see other options. I'm done with Tom Wolfe's I am Charlotte Simmons. My first impressions on Wolfe novels weren't big - Simmons is an interesting and enjoyable book, but predictable and ordinary. I went to the library and rented A Bonfire of Vanities, his most famous novel, and I intend to finish it during this week. After carnival, life's back - finally. I feel like I've been in vacations for years. Read/Post Comments (0) Previous Entry :: Next Entry Back to Top |
