A Waltz for a Night
Julie Delpy

Let me sing you a waltz
Out of nowhere, out of my thoughts
Let me sing you a waltz
About this one night stand

You were for me that night
Everything I always dreamt of in life
But now you're gone
You are far gone
All the way to your island of rain

It was for you just a one night thing
But you were much more to me
Just so you know

I hear rumors about you
About all the bad things you do
But when we were together alone
You didn't seem like a player at all

I don't care what they say
I know what you meant for me that day
I just wanted another try
I just wanted another night
Even if it doesn't seem quite right
You meant for me much more
Than anyone I've met before

One single night with you little Jesse
Is worth a thousand with anybody

I have no bitterness, my sweet
I'll never forget this one night thing
Even tomorrow, another arms
My heart will stay yours until I die

Let me sing you a waltz
Out of nowhere, out of my blues
Let me sing you a waltz
About this lovely one night stand

This song brings me some good recent nostalgies. Just to remember Julie Delpy playing it to Ethan Hawke in Before Sunset makes my heart ache...

I am done with Bonfire of Vanities. It's undoubtly a hundred thousand times better than Charlotte Simmons. Even this being the second Tom Wolfe's book I've read, I could identify his writting style easily. Even the worst part of Bonfire - the ending - is similar to Charlotte's worst part - the ending. I am now on my way to the end of Dan Brown's Deception Point, and my impressions so far are good. The story is as Danbrownian as possible; both for good and bad. The same characters are there, the same tension, the same thrilling atmosphere, the same "I don't wanna stop passing the pages" sensation. Quite fun.

I spent the Carnival week at Maricá with my mother's family, and it was really enjoyable. Cards, beers, pool, sun... Isabela even spent a weekend with me, along with Guilherme. Very pleasant time. Her husband was the same jackass as always, though.

And the Oscar. The Oscar was quite interesting. I couldn't believe Crash won. Crash is undoubtly the best movie (or one of the best) in the past two years (2004-2006). Well done! It was my personal pick, I just couldn't predict.

At last, to put the news down, one last thing: I finished Fire Emblem: Blazing Sword for the GBA today. Best game I've played in ages. The realism and the storyline are FANTASTIC, and it's incredibly fun. Not hard, about one or two greater challenges, but it's excellent. I'm looking forward to play the sequel, Fire Emblem: The Sacred Stones. It's impossible to not get involved by the storyline.

That's about what happened since I last posted here. I cancelled my enrollment for the Hotel Management course because I simply cannot pay it, due to all the stupid debts I acquired in 2005. My family does not know. They think, and I act to make them think, that I am actually taking the course. Every day, I leave 8 in the morning and sit at a coffee shop to read the news. Then, I leave straight to the public library and read more - alas, there's where I'm reading Deception Point. I believe all my debts will be paid this year, and I am looking forward it. It just sucks to lie lie lie and lie - but life's like that, living and learning. Now I have to pay for what I've done, and that's what I'll do.
Pedro is here. He arrived yesterday for some classes. Good fun. Love him. Deftly my best friend of all times.
