So much time trying to figure out if humans are causing climate change or if it's just a naturally occurring event that happens in strange cycles we don't fully understand. The answer may be an unhealthy mix of the two. Still, it's hard to imagine the coincidence of the earth being on one of those "natural cycles" at the same time we are dumping so many millions of chemicals and compounds into the atmosphere (like carbon, look at the effect that had on venus), destroying more oxygen creating forests, overfarming and over consuming resources at a rate not seen on the planet, ever, before. Most solutions I have seen to address "climate change", man made or not, are good ideas for the planet. The "Climate Change" movement is really about sustainability, something that is a "do or die" choice for humanity, even if you half think about it. Seriously, people should just chill out and think about where all this shit comes from that we enjoy as first worlders. All the energy, resources, fuel, and waste it took to get the thing from point a to point z all in 2 days with free shipping. Forget studies and politicians. Forget Al Gore and Glenn Beck. Where did this all come from and at what cost? Is there a more efficient way to do it looking forward? And at some point, are we willing to pay more to live longer and healthier? To me, these are the questions of Climate Change. Read/Post Comments (2) Previous Entry :: Next Entry Back to Top |
