2005-03-02 11:49 AM "It's ALIVE!" I'm nearing human. And it feels so good! This means it's time to start getting my house and life back in order. Rice has already started. Last night he made a work-related phone call and now he's working away in his office. Last night Avadore went down quite early (he's still recovering, though this thing never beat him down like it did Rice and I) and Rice and I watched De-Lovely. I heard an interview with Kevin Kline on NPR last June discussing this movie, so I've been on the lookout for it. If you've seen it, you are of course not surprised it came nowhere near where I live, so we Netflixed it. It's a really interesting movie, put together in a very cool, unusual way. We enjoyed it quite a lot. Rice was dubious, but he enjoyed it a lot, too, and we had an interesting discussion afterwards. In case you haven't seen it, I won't give anything away here. You'll just have to consider yourself potentially curious and watch it yourself. Thinking about it this morning, I think one of my favorite things about it is that the characters are not facile, nor is their relationship. It's complex, just like real human relationships. Thank goodness, however, my love life isn't thatcomplex. There will be reading today, and some writing. Even just a little bit. I think I have enough living brain cells and synapses that are firing well enough to be able to hold most coherant thoughts in my head long enough to follow them through.
