2008-05-21 11:01 AM Things people can do to better afford gas. Everyone is in panic mode about rising gas prices. We all want to know when it will stop. Unfortunately, not anytime soon. So here's some simple lifestyle changes people can make to save money without giving up everything they enjoy.
-Ride a bike, walk, or carpool. -Give up lattes and frappucinos. -rent a DVD from the library instead of going out to dinner and a movie. -instead of buying new clothes, wear old ones and call them "vintage." -shop at consignment stores. -buy only from the sale rack. -instead of packaged food, buy fresh produce. -plan a picnic at a local park rather than a roadtrip. -limit eating in a restaurant to special occasions. -give up smoking. -ditch the fancy hair care products. -give yourself a manicure instead of going to a nail salon. -give up fast food. -buy the store brand. -wash your own car. -fire your housekeeper. People have survived through times that were much tougher than they are now. We're capable of making sacrifices, and changing just one small thing can make a difference. I'm not trying to be preachy and imply that people cannot enjoy themselves, but there's always something we could do without. If we're willing to figure out what that is, we can make rising gas prices easier on ourselves. Read/Post Comments (0) Previous Entry :: Next Entry Back to Top |
