Well, we're back from Merrie Olde England . . .

Got back yesterday after a harrowing near-miss with our airplane; for the second time, we got to stand in line at the British Airways counter for over 2 hours. (Dunno if I relayed the story about getting to England. In brief: I got email notice in the morning that the flight was cancelled, called BA and they made alternate flight arrangements, then when we got to the Detroit airport we stood in an interminable line for so long that we missed the flight out . . . there were other twists to the story, too, but that's the brief version.) Anyhow, this line had its compensations, though, as we got bumped to Business Class for the ride home. Here's what the seats in BA's Business Class look like:

Yes, those are my feet. Stretched out and on my footstool. The seats actually reclined to a flat horizontal plane; a shortish person such as myself could actually sleep all stretched out . . . which I did, for a short while.

This is to say nothing of the food. And drink. (The pre-flight glass of champagne went a lo-ooong way towards soothing my shattered nerves . . . )

(I do believe that Business Class on a transatlantic voyage is about the best upgrade I've ever heard of . . . )

Anyhow, the trip itself was fantastic. I promise a fuller narrative very soon, accompanied by pictures that actually make sense. I hoped to get to that today, but alas, I spent today doing things like taxes (we're getting a -small- refund! Yay!), laundry, grocery shopping, More Fundraising, and a training ride (which you can read about on my Team in Training blog).

Now, if you'll excuse me, my body thinks it's 3 am . . . I'm going to go to bed, and then wake up ridiculously early . . .
