Well, I looked up from the portfolio I was grading just a few minutes ago, and this is what I saw:

A nice gift from the universe on this snowy morning! You can't see the colors very well, especially the pinkening sky, which is my favorite part of winter mornings (or maybe it's the blueing snow, I don't know). I can still see a few grass tips, but yesterday's steady accretion of tiny flakes did work its miracle and I probably could ski, if I didn't have a full plate today and if I knew where my wax and boots were . . .

Today I have to swap portfolios (turn in a graded set and pick up another, which has to be graded by Friday), after which I'm slated to go on a Wellness Walk to the Turner-Dodge Mansion for tea. Then Emma needs blood work prior to her surgery tomorrow, and I need to prepare for my German class skit (also tomorrow). We got a Christmas tree yesterday but our stand is in Ann Arbor, so I want to get a stand. (I suppose the tree could sit outside until the weekend, when we could go get our other one, but then Em wouldn't have the fun of decorating it, since she's supposed to be ill for the next couple of weeks.)

All in all it should be a very pleasant day . . . It's off to a good start, anyway!
