Despite the lack of sleep...

...I'm a little more chipper today. Last night, I had one of the worst nights of sleep that I've had in quite a while last night. I probably only got about 3 or 4 *good* hours of sleep last night.

My night went as follows:

Studied for my astronomy test for a little bit.

Went downstairs and watched a couple episodes of my "Simpsons season 2" dvd. Fell asleep in the episode where Homer gets a new head of hair.

Woke up at 2ish.

Turned off the blank tv screen and stereo. Went through the motions of washing my face and brushing my fangs. Crawled into bed.

Stared at the ceiling for a good hour and a half. I put on some music thinking that would help. It didn't. I tried old school Elliott Smith. Didn't work. Beck's "Sea Change"...nada. Turned back off the music. Nothing. Put on "Pet Sounds" by the Beach Boys. That made it worse. Put on Beethoven piano concertos. No zzzz's.

So I went downstairs and put in Michael Mann's "The Insider" which may be the most boring movie I own. Well, not boring so much as just really slow and dramalicious. I thought it best to stay away from something that would be either too engaging (Kubrick, Stone, or Scorsese movie), or too loud (Jaws, Star Wars). So I put in Michael Mann's movie, "The Insider." I found myself getting sucked into the movie a bit too much, but I did manage to doze off about an hour into it. I guess all I needed was one *thing* to focus on, because my brain had been racing all night. It's been doing that a lot recently. :-|

But the rest of the night's sleep was really broken up into about 30 minute segments of me sleeping and then waking back up, and then falling back asleep again.

Hmmmm...

regardless of the lack of sleep, i'm in a little better of a mood today than i was yesterday. so that's a good thing. don't expect any disgruntled student worker posts today. ;-)

Completely pointless post today. haha

matt out
