I was hoping to hit the 50,000 word mark this morning, but I came up a tiny bit short. Not complaining, though -- I finished up another chapter instead. Sweet. I've got thirteen chapters down now, and I'm guessing I've got ten more to go. If they go as fast as the last two went, I'll be a happy camper soon. It's nice getting on a roll.

Not much else new to report. Just keeping busy at the new job and getting ready to start doing some work on my first big project, now that I'm (more or less) up to speed on everything. Lots of stuff going on there, in a good way.

Still reading Liz Williams' Snake Agent, which is a lot of fun and full of weird stuff. I just wish I could stay awake longer to read more. Ten p.m. comes way too early these days.

Best part of my day is getting home to see Elizabeth and play with Drew for a while before he goes down for the night. The kid just cracks me up these days -- his latest thing is to go into the kitchen and slide around and dance in his socks (his big-boy socks don't have those little grippers on the bottom). Last night he was on the linoleum going "La-la-la" and doing this little hoppy-jumpy dance. It's sort of like, "Hold on a minute, Dad, I gotta go dance!" And then he'll leave the books and his train and go dance, then come back and continuing playing.

I need to get that on camera, I know.
