2006-04-12 1:19 PM Nifty baseball news! Just when you think you've got things all figured out, life throws you a curve ball. Sometimes you whiff it, swinging so hard you almost fall over, other times you watch it go by for a called third strike. But sometimes you wait it out and make perfect contact.
The reason for all these baseball analogies? Well, got an email this morning from editor John Klima of the excellent 'zine Electric Velocipede, and he wants to buy my pre-WWI baseball story "A Miracle in Shreveport!" This news comes at a really good time for me, as I got hit with a pretty frustrating rejection on the baseball novel last week. So I guess you can excuse me for throwing out those baseball metaphors. Selling a story is much better than getting beaned in the head, okay? Now I'm just four stories away from having sold 50 stories (not counting reprints)!
