It's raining outside. It's an odd kind of rain here. It doesn't smell the same. It still leaves a nice feeling of cleanliness, the way rain is supposed to do. It's an angry rain, though, like out of a comic book or something. As strange as it is for me to see the rain being angry, it's still a comfort, a close cousin to the soft, misty, whimsical rain of my hometown. It's still got the after-taste of replenishment, the aura of serenity, and it still leaves me feeling both intensly connected and intensly seperate from the world.

On that note, I've read a number of good news articles lately on a variety of topics, all of which reminded me of how connected the world is:

Rediscovered healing properties of honey (Well, yeah, that's what I told my doctor three years ago and she laughed at me.)
But in the end, they're still nothing more than video games (There's a letter at the very end that's particularly interesting.)
What if it's (sort of) a boy and (sort of) a girl? (This article is fascinating, but you have to log in to NYTimes online to read it. They are free, and they don't spam you, so go read it.)
There's a new mouse in town (I want one.)
PhD not qualified to teach (It's an interesting argument. Both my best and my worst teachers in high school were PhD's.)
