2005-04-25 6:21 AM In Praise of the Half-Empty Glass Yes, of course, Mr. Cloudy sees the glass half-empty. If not, he'd be Mr. Sunny. But fullness isn't all it is cracked up to be. And emptiness is better than the optimist admits. The half-empty glass can be seen as something other than a loss (a once full glass that has lost half of its fullness). Perhaps it was a once empty glass that is now half full. But either way, what it now is, is a possibility, an opening, a spaciousness, roominess. There are all sorts of thing the half-empty glass can receive that the full glass cannot. And maybe the half-empty glass that is me is better off never being completely full.
