2005-07-13 9:32 AM tender hearted rock songs Been listening to the Rolling Stones Hot Rocks lately (a greatest hits collection from their early stuff). I'm not a huge Stones fan, and I don't like everything they do, but I am a fan. At the moment, I can't get enough of As Tears Go By. Do really big Stones fans get into this song? For some reason it just gets at a tender spot in me. I read somewhere the same guy arranged the strings on this one as on the Beatles' She's Leaving Home. Do I just not listen to enough current rock to hear such tender hearted songs along with the harder stuff? One place I have heard some things along these lines is Jet, but they really bring back some of the classic feel.
It is the evening of the day I sit and watch the children play Smiling faces I can see But not for me I sit and watch As tears go by My riches can’t buy everything I want to hear the children sing All I hear is the sound Of rain falling on the ground I sit and watch As tears go by It is the evening of the day I sit and watch the children play Doin’ things I used to do They think are new I sit and watch As tears go by Read/Post Comments (4) Previous Entry :: Next Entry Back to Top |
