2010-09-28 9:06 AM Link Loving Why yes, this would be another blog entry! How about that!
**** I figured I'd do a little link love today, since I can't for the life of me think of anything else to write about, although I'm sure to go off on a tangent. I can't help myself. All this lovely white space just waiting for words to be writ. Heh. **** First off, 3Words is starting up again October 1st. If you are not familiar with this concept, I'll fill you in. For the month of October, a group of writers from all levels and backgrounds will be writing 100 words per day around three given "keywords" in an ongoing story. The goal is to write a 3k complete story by the end of the month. A few years back I participated with a fun bunch of people, and wrote for the better part of a year. I got quite a lot of material out of it, some of which did not suck! And one story, which I continued for four or five months, may actually make it to book form. For a more detailed explanation, see this entry about 3Words. It is, quite simply, a blast. Registration is free and all are welcome, no matter your level -- all you need is a desire to write. It's only 100 words per day, and you write more than that in a blog post, Facebook update, or a day's worth of Tweets. It's strictly a fun exercise, and it really is a fabulous time. Come and play with us! **** Support your indie publishers! MeiLin Miranda is one of the most talented and driven women I know. Her novel, Lovers and Beloveds, is a 100% "crowd funded" endeavor and RIPPING good yarn. No only is it available in e-Book formats, it is also serialized on her website and a hardcover edition is available. This story first appeared in serialized form, then was professionally edited and re-released. There is an interactive forum for fans of her work -- fans who have stuck with her through the year-long re-writing hiatus, and have totally supported her the entire way. It is an inspiring story behind the story :) Reviews have been amazing, and MeiLin is an absolute whiz at marketing. You really must check this out -- it's a story of a young man realizing his destiny, filled with magic, intrigue, and a coming of age we can all relate to. I <3 Temmin, and I love the story. Highly recommended. Here's a trailer: **** And, Over Forty and Loving It is still alive and breathing, so hop over if you get a chance. :) **** Today's topics include title editing, wedding jewelry, and vintage tiaras. The fun never stops, heh! Read/Post Comments (0) Previous Entry :: Next Entry Back to Top |
