2006-10-03 6:03 PM anybody want a cat??? i'm such a softy.
my husband has a cat he's had for about 11 or 12 years. she's about 14 we think. she's not friendly - in fact she's mean!! you can't get close to her - not even he can. she pukes quite often and pees in the house even tho her litter box stays immaculately clean in hopes that she won't do this. a couple weeks ago he decided, after she puked on our bed at 5:30am that he would get rid of her. we're having the carpets cleaned on friday and he agreed there's no use if she's still going to be here peeing everywhere. his solution was that he would have her.....put down!!! he doesn't really want to, just can't think of anything else to do with her. i don't like this cat. i love animals, but i really hate this cat. still i can't have her put down. it brought tears to my eyes to even talk about it. and if we take her to the pound she might end up in the hands of a family who will hate her too and abuse her. as much as i hate what she does i still don't kick her around or be mean to her. but i'm afraid someone else would once they see how she is. and i can't live with that more than i can't live with the pee and puke and meanness of her. and i don't understand. i've had cats all my life and i've never seen one like her. i keep telling him she's sick. i think if he'd take her to the vet i think he'd find something like feline leukemia. many people have told me this is how they act when they've got it. i don't know what to do. maybe she'd do ok in a house with adults and no other pets, but he says she's always acted like this. anybody out there that doesn't mind their house smelling like cat pee?? anyone who wants a furry critter around who isn't loving??? didn't think so. i guess we'll keep her. i keep thinking, like with my ex-husband, if i love her enough she'll behave. yaright. but ya know, i'm inclined to try it again for her!!!
