house painting is coming along nicely. a few more days maybe. hopefully.

daughter has a halloween party to go to tonight. we're making spider's nest dip. it's mexican dip with a spider web design made from sour cream on top, with plastic spiders on it. it's really cute!!

and no i can't take a picture cuz i broke my digital camera. slammed the car door on it a few weeks ago. long story.

hubby and i are going to a bancy fall tomorrow night. i mean, uh, a fancy ball. (do you know the story of "rindercella"??? make sure a drunk tells it, and make sure you've had a couple - it's more hysterical than normal that way!!!) it's the annual benefit for the humane society here. so while we personally did not have to purchase the pricey tickets, i am happy to be supportive of this cause. it's actually costing us a lot of money to go since neither of us had any fancy duds that fit - tux for him, ball gown for me - so we had to buy new. then there's accessories - studs, tie, shirt, suspenders, socks for the tux, and jewelry, nails, tummy and butt control pantyhose (ouch) and OMG a new strapless bra for me. let me tell ya girls, i don't know how these puppies are going to stay up there all night. it could get ugly. it's impossible to take something this big that has, over the years, migrated south and use soft STRETCHY fabric to try to hold them "up there"!!!!!

i hope to have pictures, but not pictures of THAT...come to think of it, i hope THAT doesn't happen at all. (what was i thinking???)(my son is babysitting and bringing his digital camera to me for the evening)

and now, after years of being clear, i have 3 zits on my chin and one under my nose. like the three little pink pigs lined up on my chin......1...2...3...

it's nice that they are all centered so perfectly across there. *sigh* balance is good...

i haven't been anywhere nice in ages. why me, why now?????

my boobs will probably fall right out of the top of my dress.

hubby's boss AND the publisher of the newspaper hubby works at will be there to see them too.

my dr informed me this past week that blood results show i am in full blown menopause. at 44??? ok, the thought had crossed my mind, but i didn't seriously think i was at this age. i'd been having sweats at all hours of the day, couldn't sleep, tired, crying all the time, heart racing, smothering, all kinds of nice stuff going on. it's nice to know that it's just part of the natural process. i don't mind getting old, i just don't want to feel bad. i don't want to do hormones - i don't know how safe they are or aren't. so i'm opting for some natural soy treatments.

wonder if it'll work on zits???

and i am definitely starting college in january. one class at a time... maybe i'll get my master's degree by the time i get ready to retire!!! my son thinks it's hilarious - in college and menopause at the same time!!! little shit - i'll show him...i'll graduate before he does!!!!!!

now my daughter's another story. she's likely to beat both of us. and she's only 11!
