2007-01-26 8:55 AM it's not all hell i realize i've done nothing but complain lately.
i thought it time for something a bit lighter. wednesday was a snow day for my daughter. it didn't snow much. apparently there was some ice under the dusting of snow which prompted the cancellation of school. cool. we slept in. had a bit of brunch. then watched "nanny mcphee" while snuggled up together in my bed. it was cute. it was very good. a little bit fairy tale, a little bit fantasy, a little bit witchy, but good witchy - not wicked witch of the west. it's a very calming kind of movie, imho. then i told daughter to go to her room and stay there until i called her. i made a proper tea for us. the boys were getting ready to leave and go to work, so we had the place to ourselves for a few minutes. it was nice. she was surprised. when we do tea we speak british and play classical music and chat and just generally act goofy. and altho my son wasn't here to play waiter (he has the best british brogue and vocabulary) we still enjoyed ourselves very much. katherine used to have one of those tiny little play porcelain tea sets. i'm sure she still does, but we have no idea where it is since we moved in here. it's always a bit more fun filling up 1/2 oz cups repeatedly and trying to eat from those tiny 2 inch plates, but now that she's 12 she really enjoys tea and everything that goes with it, so using the real tea service was ok. see, it's not all crap around here, altho the moments aren't as spontaneous as they've been in the past, we do manage to find and make the moments every so often still. xoxo Read/Post Comments (5) Previous Entry :: Next Entry Back to Top |
