2003-02-28 11:52 PM Improbable new job Previous Entry :: Next Entry Mood: Tired Read/Post Comments (1) Nope, not likely that I'm taking the job. I clocked the journey to their office today at 90 minutes, and I had cheated on the last leg of the journey by taking taxi instead of waiting for a bus and riding the bus for 10 stops and walking another block. (The plotted journey had been: wait for bus--ride bus 3 min--transfer to train--take train 45 minutes--walk two blocks to wait for and catch second bus of the journey--ride bus for 2 miles--walk a block.) And the money couldn't justify the journey. And the journey made today had been done during the off-peak hours!
Interestingly, my "family fortune-teller" in Hong Kong had said something of this to my grandmother (who passed it to my father). If I got a proper job, it looked most likely near the middle of this year. And if I didn't get a regular job, well, art wasn't bad either. That's actually comforting. Well, just in case I would take/get the part-time job, I worked yesterday to finish the picture for Mike Jasper's Last of the Hand (for use on his website) and lo, it was finished. The last tweaks will be carried over the weekend. Oh yeah. Why is it every time I see an excite.com email address in my Hotmail inbox, it's porn spam?
