so anyway, was lookin up 'tort' on wordweb and found actus reus, meaning any wrongdoing for which an action for damages may be brought. the word gave me a hard-on so I tossed it in a story Im working on:



In light of her dislike of the tune, she sang along like she usually did—if nothing else, just to pass the time. I love you va-a-a-lleri. Actus Reus, a term she’d come across in a John Grisham novel, popped into her head. She substituted it into the song, replacing the girl’s name with it. I need you a-a-a-actus-reus.



btw, that passage isnt done. before ya accuse me of massive hackism, remember I gotta edit it profusely. the story is actually lame. so far I got some chick (valery, duh) locked in a basement with her abusive husband dead upstairs...it might get the standart perrystory treatment: wtrite to a certain point---lose interest--file in 'unfinished work'--forgedda boutit. then again, I might find a path to the end, file it under 'needs final edit', then forgedda boutit
