A gratitude journal for today (Oprah does have SOME good ideas):

C did not raise a fuss when I dropped her off at day care today--she will sometimes cry right when we leave. (She stops after we leave, we're told.) I think she was great today, mainly because the 18-month old girl that terrorizes her was not there. (takes her toys, gets up in her face, etc.) Just so you know, we don't like Lindsay around here. But we're trying to be like Jesus on that.

I got bookmarks in the mail from Mindy and SpookyRach! Woo-hoo! Mindy made a lovely beaded "book thong" (lol) and Rach actually gave me two for one--laminated strips with animal print paper on one side and funky designs on the other, and beads on a string at the top. Very cool.

The beaded bookmark brought up a happy memory for me. I had a BlessingWay for my first pregnancy, and one of the things the group did was to string beads together for two necklaces, one for me and one for the baby (at that point still unnamed). Each bead represented a wish or hope. They're on fishing wire right now in the recesses of my jewelry box--I never got around to getting them put onto something more permanent. Maybe now is the time and Mindy is my gal for that? :-)

A member of the church called today and wants to give me a baby shower--in November. Seems like a long time away, but I'm glad she called because I only have one Saturday available. Sounds like she wants to do quite a 'do--hand-calligraphed invitations, etc. It's very sweet of her.

We are over the hump in regards to the C sleep issues. Yay!!!!

I got to have a brief impromptu three-way phone call with two of my CGs this morning, and another one is visiting this weekend! Woo-hoo!

Just how insane is Tom Cruise, and how much of a sham is this wedding?

I got a call today from the secretary of the director of the Institute for Reformed Theology down at Union/PSCE in Richmond. She said he'd asked her to call me and schedule a 15-minute phone conversation for tomorrow. She didn't know what it was about. I am skeptical--do they want money, what? But curiosity won out. The guy is formerly associated with the seminary I attended, so y'know, he's probably okay, but... stay tuned.

Jon Stewart's new Daily Show set is distracting with the Daily Show graphics swirling around his head willy-nilly. And I like that he and the guest are closer to one another than when he had the couch, but that grey conference table has a really low-rent Charlie Rose feel to it. The blue lucite was much cooler.

Another midwife appointment tomorrow. I think at that point I'll get the referral to the place that does the 20-week ultrasound. Yikes! This pregnancy is going way too quickly. I know, I know... I won't be saying that come 38, 39 weeks...
