Artemis, otherwise known as Misty and Mystification and Mysterious, went to the vet today for her annual shots and general tuneup.

The veterinarian, a tiny woman who weighs about the same as the cat, commented on her general condition. "Misty certainly has wonderful muscle tone," the doctor says as though it surprises her.

Well, I am not surprised. This is the cat who is best friends with a dog that weighs about 8 times what she does. When Misty jumps down off the 6 foot fence, Jasmine is right there to chase her all the way across the back yard to the house.

Misty actually waits for Jasmine to get close before she jumps down and runs hell bent along the fence line. It's a game they play every day. Jasmine, for her part, knows all about the sharp pointies with which Misty is equipped, and never quite manages to catch her. Wonder why.
