I'm listening to the best classical music station this city can boast. Right now is the third time in 4 days this station has played The Ride of the Valkyries. Now I like martial, strident Richard Wagner as much as anyone, but perhaps they are overdoing it as a palliative for all that sticky sweet Christmas music? I'm ready to shimmy into my iron breastplate (brrrrh!), braid my hair, put on my horned helmet, grab my spear...oh, wait, I live in the wilds of Southern Californial...guess I'll just grab my jacket, get into my car and hit the freeway.

My Scandanavian forebears would be scandalized at my lack of berserker frenzy. I'm a lover, not a Valkyrie.
