I cover my lap with a tee shirt (in summer) or an afghan (in winter) because the sharp pointies come out while she's grooving on ear rubs, jaw rubs, ear scratches and the like. I've tried to explain "nice paws" to her, but she still forgets on occasion. I've always been fascinated by the regional differences in what people call that action by a cat with her paws when she is strongly affected by pleasurable emotion. So I ask you--what do you call that action and where did you grow up? Just curious. I grew up in Connecticut and when a cat pushed in and out with her front paws, we said she was "knitting". Is that just an east coast expression, or do you use it too? Read/Post Comments (14) Previous Entry :: Next Entry Back to Top |
