Bush, who (like many people with addictive personalities) can be charming and sexy in private, regardless of his public persona. She changed her religion, changed her political affiliation, devoted her life to him, never marrying--all in the name of love.
Her devotion has been used shamelessly by Dubya. And in return, for the years of soul-corrupting coverups for him (she knew about the pre 9/11 briefing headed by terrorism warnings, for instance), she is finally earning her reward. Not a seat at the table (Laura got there first) but a seat on the Supreme Court. He is sure of her love and loyalty. Were they ever lovers? Doesn't matter. What does matter are the consequences for the country if a person who is both judicially unqualified and academically/intellectually limited is installed as a Supreme Court Justice. And for another take, read this article from the Washington Post. Read/Post Comments (3) Previous Entry :: Next Entry Back to Top |
