Summer is the heaviest workload of the year for me in my place of gainful employment (as opposed to home, where all I gain is an allergy to dust). It's not that I'm ignoring the world of blogs and journals; it's just that the brief opportunities I have for sleep loom invitingly and before I can assume the horizontal position, I'm asleep.

First ripe tomato was picked today. It's small, but it's the first fruit and deserves its place of honor.
