That's the part the dog likes, though the cat is irked at the interruption of her 20-hour nap. Thanks for taking the time to stop by and leave your thoughts!
We have rain at last, we have rain, glorious rain. And not only rain, but the soft, continuous rain that allows the parched ground to absorb the water, rather than the hard rain that the baked clay sheds, causing runoff and flooding. I led the services today, and during the welcome portion, I mentioned the gentle rain as being like the quality of mercy. Not sure anyone got it. Later on, though, I quoted Hamlet: There are more things in heaven and earth, Horatio, than are dreamt of in thy philosophy. And I mentioned dear old Will by name, giving credit, lest anyone think I could possibly be so eloquent. We sang unfamiliar hymns with great gusto, though all of us were sight reading them (or just humming along), and listened to the rain patter on the roof during the meditation. A lovely morning.
