Laundry (the neverending story), groceries (where do they all go each week?), watering inside plants (mother nature took care of the outside ones this morning), making up the week's meds for hubby (another neverending chore), changing the kitty litter (high time for this task) and the endless picking up, putting away and such. The twinge in my right knee today (thanks to the damp weather) reminded me of previous years when I was practically crippled. As I trudged up the stairs with yet another load of laundry, I bethought myself how grateful I am to be able to scoot up and down them without a second thought. For a while there I though I was crippled for good. There are many things for which I am deeply grateful: relatively good health, a moderately secure job, a warm and dry place to lay my head (and the rest of me), two cats to keep me company and the companionship of dear friends. Many people have lots less. What I take as my usual state would be unusual for them; wherefore do I complain? For all the above and so much more, I am truly grateful.
