Record or near-record temperatures today--in the mid 90s to 100 in some parts of the Valley.

My poor tomatoes. I've shaded them as much as I can; I spritzed them with water yesterday and this morning.

Poor things are stressed. So are the cats. And the humans...people drive funny in the heat. As though their reasoning faculties shunt to ground when the temperature rises. Mine do.

The air conditioning in my office is out; there's no way to open the windows. I may go home early and take a nice cold shower, shared with the tomatoes. Outdoors.
