Of course there were a zillion things to be done, all of them top priority ASAP kinds of things due the day before yesterday, but so much less stressful than what the past week has been.
I did two of the three major projects and a bunch of the lesser level things, feeling myself settle into a well-known place in the social structure and the work projects. It may be just a comfort zone, but it's my comfort zone, and I'm grateful for it. Almost time to wrap up the day and go home to whatever crisis awaits (sure to be one, y'know). The work day has been a respite, a chance to be my normal self, and what a relief. It's hard work, with demanding deadlines, but it's a set of tasks with which I'm very familiar and which are well within my ability level. I love my job. Wish I loved my home life half as much.
