My new manager and the office staff had time to relax together, after this last batch of craziness.

Turns out his birthday is just 9 days earlier than mine, but 27 years later (yes, I'm old enough to be his mother). His two children have the same birthday as each other, exactly 6 months and one day from his. Oh, my, lotsa conversation in that household, you betcha.

It all kind of fits together in a picture, though I'd love to do more study--his reputation is well-deserved and his march to a different drummer bothers me not. After all, I have my own drummer to attend to.

So I have some hopes that we may be abe to work together, independently. We have similar work styles, I think, working separately, but touching base occasionally to coordinate. I never could stand the in-your-pocket, breathing down one's neck, style of operating; and I think he's the same way.

Don't give a hoot about his personal lifestyle, so long as it doesn't mess up the work team. His work ethic is excellent; not long on ability but a very diligent worker. If it falls apart, it won't be because he didn't try his best.
