Saturday went by in a flash of a variety of activities: groceries at Trader Joe's, meeting with the Sprinkler Doctor (there goes another bundle of money), going to hardware store to get a replacement shower head (and replacing it), laundry, and finally dinner out with friends at a Chinese vegetarian restaurant.

Good food, low salt and fat (the two faults I find with regular Chinese food at restaurants), and enjoyable conversation, though "banquet room" would have been far too kind an appellation for the place where our table was arranged. More like "big bare echoing storage room."

But good company, good food, and the interaction of friends more than made up for any deficiencies of ambiance.

Today is our Flower Communion at Emerson (sounds vaguely pagan Christian, doesn't it?), then grab a sandwich and off to the VA hospital in Westwood. I bought some strawberries for Norm yesterday, and washed and bagged enough for him and for the 3 other men in his room.

That will probably take me until dinnertime today.

Then tomorrow, back to work.
