2010-12-11 7:47 AM Which Winter Weather Previous Entry :: Next Entry Read/Post Comments (1) When we talk about winter weather here in southern California, the first part of the conversation involves which winter weather is being referenced.
Is it the cold, blustery, rainy days when the thermometer barely sneaks above 60 midday? Or, like today, is it the windy, dry, mid-80's winter weather? I've got WeatherBug running on my computer and the wind is blowing hard and veering from north west through to north east, with gusts from who knows where. At the moment, it's a true north wind. (Santa Ana winds, dry, bringing great danger of fires). Sneeze weather: the winds pick up and transmit grit, dust, pollens, mold spores and other irritants and allergens for considerable distances. Makes me wonder why I bothered to rake my lawn last week. Now you know why those of us who live here put away our winter clothes during the months of summer and fall--but our lightweight clothes stay in use year round. If it's not tee shirt weather today, it will be tomorrow, or soon. I love sweaters and vests, but hardly ever get to wear them. Some of you may think longingly of warm weather, virtually year round, but personally I look forward to seasonal cold and snow or rain. Well, maybe not for driving in it. After all my years of driving freeways and city streets, both in private vehicles and otherwise, I prefer to stay home when roads are hazardous.
