I've recovered (mostly) from Wednesday's oral surgery. Yesterday I just sat around reading, paying bills on the computer, petting cats, taking meds and eating ice cream.

Must remember to chew on left side only and try not to bite tongue or inside of cheek.

Have to go back to regular dentist to get a crown. I wonder if she (my dentist) plays checkers. I could say, "Crown me".

Today some of the get-up-and-go is back, so I'm going out to do some errands before it gets too uncomfortably hot to do much more than veg out.

I have a furlough day today, a mixed blessing. It's a pay cut (furloughs amount to 7% a year) but it's also a day off without using up a benefit day.

The cats love it when I have a day off and mostly stay home. They seem to think it is happening in their honor and they demand their due amounts of attention and treats.

Kitchen and front door hallway are being re-floored, so I have to come in the back of the house and maneuver my way to the stairs to come up to my part of the house. The refrigerator is in the living room. The stove is out on the patio, as is the kitchen table. Heaven only knows where the rest of the stuff has been stashed. Isn't home renovation/repair fun?

The city inspector came by yesterday to sign off on the final inspection. And one of these days I'll have my house back!
