Coolth

After the last couple of days, when we endured temperatures pushing 100, this morning's coolth comes as a welcome blessing. And it comes with the message that it's not summer--yet.

Sunday's my day of rest and I try to keep it that way. The most energetic part of the day will be doing my once a month usher duties at church. Hardly taxing.

The rest of the day, if it remains cool, would be lovely to spend in the garden, puttering around, and maybe finishing the book I'm reading.

There's an Arts & Crafts Faire at a nearby park. May check it out, see what's on offer.

Yesterday had afternoon tea (complete with finger sandwiches and scones) with a group of old friends. We talked and laughed and had a wonderful time. The tea started at 1 p.m. and we didn't get home again until dinnertime. Sure beats the heck out of cocktail parties.

I'm not a big fan of parties, usually, but this was different and enjoyable.

Still, though, after a couple of days of intense socializing, I'm more than ready for some solitude.
